To Our Valued Customers and Distribution Partners -
As you know, we at ITW Thermal Films have been involved in a trade litigation matter - an antidumping case - brought by IIMAK concerning our TTR. The Commerce Department announced yesterday that it has ruled in our favor in the case.
In the next few days, Commerce will publish its final determination that ITW's sales of TTR are priced fairly under U.S. law, and the months-long investigation of ITW will be terminated. Accordingly, ITW sales of TTR will remain unaffected by this antidumping action brought by IIMAK.
Commerce based its final determination of "no dumping" by ITW on detailed sales and cost of production information submitted by ITW in response to the voluminous requests by Commerce. Department officials verified this information during on-site audits at ITW facilities in Korea and in the United States. The information submitted by ITW and verified by Commerce refuted the claims by IIMAK that ITW has priced its TTR unfairly. Despite IIMAK's own acknowledged financial instability, ITW firmly believed from the outset that IIMAK's claims about our business practices were wrong and unjustified, and this final Commerce decision fully confirms our position.
While the antidumping investigation did not hinder our service to you, our valued customers, it nevertheless posed a major distraction to our management. With that distraction now removed, be assured that we are more devoted than ever to meeting your TTR needs with the best products and service at fair prices. With the resources and support of ITW Inc., our business is financially strong and stable - a factor that we believe should be vitally important to your ongoing supply needs. We look forward to the opportunity to serve your sourcing requirements now and long into the future.
Thank you for your continued support. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
With "determination" and focus,
Pete Gallette
